Our Story
It started with a simple question.
When our founder, Jim Forward, was invited to draw with a group of artists in Rochester, New York, he noticed stacks of artwork from a recent exhibition waiting in storage. Curious, he asked what would happen to the pieces.
The answer was simple: most would return to studios, storage rooms, basements, and spare bedrooms while artists moved on to create work for the next show.
That moment sparked a realization.
Every day, extraordinary works of art disappear from view—not because they lack value, quality, or meaning, but because there is no lasting infrastructure for discovery.
For centuries, art has relied on physical spaces and fleeting moments of visibility. An exhibition ends. A fair closes. A social media post disappears. Incredible artwork is created, yet much of it remains unseen by the people who would appreciate it most.
We believe there is a better way.
Behold World Art Exchange was created to help art live beyond a single exhibition, post, or moment in time. We are building the discovery platform for visual art—a place where artists, collectors, galleries, universities, museums, estates, and cultural organizations can connect through art in a more meaningful and enduring way.
Our mission is simple: make more art discoverable.
By bringing together artwork from around the world into a shared digital experience, we aim to help people discover artists they would never otherwise encounter, explore complete bodies of work, and engage with art as part of everyday life.
This is not just a platform for artists.
It is a platform for everyone who believes art deserves to be seen.
Welcome to Behold.
